Materiales para la historia del deporte (e-ISSN 2340-7166) brings together studies and researches related to the origins and evolution of the physical activities, with the main object of promoting its dissemination in the scientific community of Spanish speaking and recovering part of our common historical sports heritage.
Focus and scope
Materiales para la Historia del Deporte was born in 2003 as a result of the coordination tasks inspired by the Andalusian Association of Sports History and thanks to the invaluable collaboration of the Andalusian Sports Institute. After its passage through the Pablo de Olavide University, since September 2019 it is included in the catalogue of journals of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, being the Research Group "Humanist and Social Studies in Physical Education and Sport" of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (INEF) the responsible for its exploitation and dissemination.
Materiales para la Historia del Deporte is a biannual, ranked, peer-reviewed journal which brings together studies and research related to the origins and evolution of physical activities, as well as the social sciences and humanities linked to sport in general, with the primary aim of promoting its diffusion in the scientific community.
